Swimming Lessons
Swimming is not only the greatest form of lifelong exercise but an invaluable life skill. Coach Dan approaches all classes with a "swimming for life" philosophy. Here, swimmers learn proper swimming technique will enjoying their time in the water. The Marlins Swim Team believes in contributing to a swimmer's development in three ways: physically, mentally, and socially. Swimmers learn superior stroke technique, and develop a competitive mind set through hard work, self-discipline, and lots of fun.
Coach Dan recommends private lessons for those that are very new to swimming or simply prefer the private instruction and individual analysis of their technique. Private and Semi-privates are available to youths and adults at several area pools. Video clinics are also available upon request.
Swimming Teams & Coaching
Coach Dan maintains a swim team on the Andersen Air Force Base as well as the PIA Marine Hotel Pool. (PIA Marine swimming has moved to Agana Pool for the summer, effective June '06 ) Here, students focus on more advanced swimming drills and practice 2-4 times per week.
Some swimmers also attend local competitions or "meets." By attending swim meets and cheering for their fellow Marlin teammates, students also acquire a strong sense of camaraderie and unity.
Adult swimmers can join a coached Masters workout on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 6-7am at the Agana Pool. If you are already comfortable with swimming 50meters without stopping, then this is for you. (workouts b/t 800-2800m) Just show up and we'll take it from there!
Rates
Private and Semi-Private classes are conducted at rate of sixty dollars per hour, booked in blocks of 8 lessons per session. Semi-private groups are limited to 6 students per group. Schedules are flexible with lessons meeting 2-3 times per week on weekdays and weekends. Students will learn techniques and concepts that will improve their self-confidence in the water and can practice these outside of class time as well.
Team and Group rates apply at a rate of 50usd/month
